Other brands of boot drives are used predominantly for booting an OS, but in many instances today the boot drive has another purpose by logging application data and/or configured as a high-speed local cache drive. Hence, the Kingston DC1000B was created with additional durability (0.5 DWPD for 5-years) to handle the OS workload as well as the extra write workload of caching and data logging. Designed for long-term reliability the DC1000B is intended to offer enterprise-level performance, consistency and low latency features normally not established on client SSDs.
