The Lenovo ThinkPad L16 Gen 2 is designed for professionals who need strong productivity performance, extensive connectivity and enterprise-grade features in a spacious 16-inch platform. The 21SA0011ZA combines Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 architecture with upgradeable DDR5 memory, fast PCIe storage, mobile broadband and Lenovo’s established ThinkPad design.

At its core is the Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 255U processor, featuring 12 cores and 14 threads in a hybrid configuration of 2 Performance cores, 8 Efficient cores and 2 Low Power Efficient cores. With speeds reaching up to 5.20GHz and 12MB cache, it provides strong performance for demanding multitasking, spreadsheets, business applications, conferencing and browser-heavy professional workflows.

Dedicated AI processing is handled by the integrated Intel® AI Boost NPU, delivering up to 12 TOPS of NPU performance. This provides dedicated hardware acceleration for supported AI-enhanced applications and productivity features while allowing compatible workloads to be handled more efficiently.

The notebook includes 16GB DDR5-5600 memory installed as a single 16GB SO-DIMM. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots support dual-channel operation and provide an excellent upgrade path, with the platform supporting up to 64GB DDR5-5600 memory.

Storage is provided by a spacious 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe Opal 2.0 SSD, delivering fast Windows startup, responsive application loading and ample capacity for business documents, applications and project files. The platform supports one M.2 2280 SSD with capacities up to 2TB.

The 16-inch WUXGA (1920 × 1200) IPS display provides a productivity-friendly 16:10 workspace with 400-nit brightness, anti-glare coating, 45% NTSC colour coverage and a 60Hz refresh rate. The taller 16:10 aspect ratio provides additional vertical workspace compared with traditional 16:9 displays, making it particularly useful for documents, spreadsheets and browser applications.

A major advantage of this configuration is its integrated Quectel EM061K-GL 4G LTE Cat 6 modem, complete with embedded eSIM functionality and Nano-SIM support. This allows mobile professionals to remain connected when Wi-Fi is unavailable, making the ThinkPad L16 particularly useful for travelling employees, field workers and hybrid professionals.

Connectivity also includes Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211, Bluetooth® 5.3 and Gigabit Ethernet. Physical connectivity is comprehensive, with three USB-A ports, two Thunderbolt™ 4 / USB4 40Gbps ports supporting USB Power Delivery 3.1 and DisplayPort™ 2.1, HDMI® 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, Nano-SIM and a 3.5mm audio combination jack.

For hybrid working and secure authentication, the ThinkPad features a 5MP + IR camera with privacy shutter, enabling Windows Hello facial recognition. A Match-on-Chip fingerprint reader integrated into the power button provides an additional biometric authentication option, while discrete TPM 2.0 provides hardware-based security for credentials and encryption keys.

The full-size backlit ThinkPad keyboard includes a dedicated numeric keypad, making the L16 particularly well suited to accounting, finance, spreadsheets and data-entry workloads. Stereo 2W speakers are optimised with Dolby Atmos® for conferencing and multimedia use.
