The SanDisk Optimus 5100 2TB NVMe SSD delivers a strong combination of performance, storage capacity and affordability for users upgrading a compatible laptop or desktop PC. Its slim M.2 2280 form factor makes it suitable as a high-speed primary drive or as additional high-capacity storage for games, creative projects and productivity workloads.

Using a PCIe® 4.0 x4 NVMe™ interface, the 2TB Optimus 5100 reaches sequential read speeds of up to 7,100MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,700MB/s. These speeds provide fast operating system responsiveness, shorter application loading times and rapid transfers when working with large files.

Random performance reaches up to 1 million read IOPS and 1.3 million write IOPS, helping maintain responsiveness during multitasking and workloads involving large numbers of smaller files. SanDisk notes that actual performance can vary depending on the host device, usage conditions, drive capacity and other factors.

SanDisk incorporates nCache™ 4.0 technology to support seamless application multitasking and fast file-copy performance. The Optimus 5100 family also uses 8th-generation SANDISK BiCS QLC 3D CBA NAND, combining modern flash technology with capacities ranging from 500GB up to 4TB.

With 2TB of storage capacity, this model provides substantially more room for modern game libraries, high-resolution photographs, 4K video, creative projects and large productivity workloads while retaining high PCIe 4.0 performance. Users can monitor SSD performance and check for updates using the downloadable SANDISK Dashboard application for Windows. SanDisk also provides access to Acronis® True Image™ for SANDISK, which can assist with transferring existing data to the new SSD.

The drive measures just 80 × 22 × 2.38mm and weighs approximately 5.7g, following the widely supported M.2 2280 form factor. SanDisk backs the Optimus 5100 with a 5-year limited warranty for added long-term confidence.
