The SanDisk Optimus GX PRO 8100 2TB NVMe SSD is engineered for users who demand extreme storage performance. Designed around the latest PCIe 5.0 x4 interface, it targets enthusiast gaming PCs, high-performance workstations, creator systems and AI PCs where conventional PCIe 4.0 storage can become a performance bottleneck.

The 2TB SDSP82200TAN-000E0 delivers sequential read speeds of up to an exceptional 14,900MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 14,000MB/s. That places it at roughly twice the headline sequential bandwidth of many high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, providing tremendous throughput for large files, professional projects, modern games and data-intensive applications.

Random performance is equally impressive, reaching up to 2.3 million random read IOPS and 2.4 million random write IOPS. This level of performance is particularly valuable for workloads involving large datasets, AI models, professional applications and intensive multitasking where rapid access to many individual files is required.

At the heart of the Optimus GX PRO 8100 is 8th-generation SanDisk BiCS TLC 3D CBA NAND. SanDisk pairs this high-performance TLC flash with integrated nCache™ 4.0 technology, designed to provide fast burst-write performance and accelerate large file transfers.

Despite its extreme performance, SanDisk has focused heavily on efficiency. For the 1TB through 4TB GX PRO 8100 models, SanDisk specifies average operating power of 7.5W or less and states more than twice the power efficiency of its previous PCIe Gen 4 performance SSD.

This particular SDSP82200TAN-000E0 model is the version without a heatsink, making it suitable for motherboards and systems that already provide an integrated M.2 heatsink or thermal solution. SanDisk separately offers the SDSP82200TAH-000E0 version with its own heatsink.

The drive follows the standard M.2 2280 S3-M form factor, measuring approximately 80 × 22 × 2.38mm and weighing just 7.5g. SanDisk specifies an operating temperature range of 0°C to 85°C and a non-operating range of -40°C to 85°C.
